Save the Children in Indonesia is changing for the better. We've begun to build a national organization that aims to be a strong, local, and self-sustaining voice for children in Indonesia. To this end, SC Indonesia has been designated as a “Prospect Member”. As ‘Prospect Member’ Indonesia has been identified as part of the next way of new member development, which focuses on strengthening and localizing our voice for children in strategic middle income countries. Indonesia has been authorized by member ballot to start fundraising locally as a first step towards building a financially sustainable local organization. Future work will also involve developing a strong local governance structure and building key partnerships with local government, the private sector, local civil society among others. Success of the pilot phase will set the Indonesia on a pathway to full membership. We are currently seeking to fill the following position:
Health & Nutrition Coordinator
1 (one) positions based in Donggala – Central Sulawesi
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for management and oversight of the implementation of YSTC nutrition activities in North Dongalla. The Project Coordinator will line manage the Project Officers who will be supporting the programme sites.
The Project Coordinator will lead the building of networks and communications with local Governments, Puskesmas and stakeholders in North Dongalla for effective project activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Required
- At least 3 years of working experience in Nutrition or Health programmes
- Experience in implementing programmes in collaboration with local health systems and governments
- Excellent knowledge and skills in public health, Community based health services, community resilience, community/youth development and mobilization, especially in an emergency context
- Demonstrated experience to coordinate, and coach staff in nutrition or health skills and programme management
- Experience of, and commitment to, working through systems of community participation and accountability
- Ability to analyse information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically
- A team player who is able to work collaboratively
- Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in Bahasa or local language
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles, including rights-based approaches
Desirable
- Previous experience working with NGOs
- Experience working in projects including infant and young child feeding or breastfeeding
- Good oral and written English
